Tales in winter, but tales full of sunshine with Valer'Egouy
05/03/16 : Valer'Egouy à la méddiathèque de Tarbes
The youngest children were out in force for the Tales in Winter festival on Saturday morning. In front of a packed room at the Louis Aragon media library, storyteller Valer'Egouy from Martinique recounted the tale of the cat who stole the fish from the bear cub. The magic of storytelling worked its charm; just a few words were enough to transport the audience, young and old alike. And as we saw during the festival's opening night, storytelling in the French West Indies truly engages the audience, who actively participate in the performance by responding to the storyteller's calls!
As the 31st edition of the Contes en Hiver festival begins this weekend, we meet its programmer Michèle Carayre-Bouchet to talk about the festival, storytelling and its audience.
The festival will open its 31st edition on Saturday with Anne-Gaëlle Duvochel and a tale full of humor and emotion where adventure and transsexuality intersect.
